Cleveland Browns Rookie linebacker Barkevious Mingo has never played a single down in the NFL and he has only played against his Browns teammates at practice, but from his perspective the Browns can be the best defense in the league.

Per NFL.com:

“If everything is going well, I think this defense could be the best in the league,” Mingo said Tuesday, according to The Plain Dealer.

What does that even mean? If everything is going well? If we are playing well, then we can be really good? That’s what it sounds like to me.

“We have a lot of players that can contribute and help this team win. We’ve got a lot of rushers,” Mingo added. “We’ve got corners on the back end. We’ve got D-linemen that can hold those blocks and get off and make plays. We’ve got linebackers that can come up and tackle the run and get back in coverage as well. So we have a lot of tools that we can use.”

At least he knows the roles of the defenders. Maybe he should play a couple of games before he makes some outrageous assessment of his defense. It would be nice for the kid to get a little something to compare against.

But if all goes well… WATCH OUT!
