The Denver Broncos and left tackle Ryan Clady still do not appear close to agreeing on a long-term deal, per National Football Post. The Broncos slapped the franchise tag on Clady, but Clady still has not signed it and he doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to sign the tag.
The Broncos and franchise left tackle Ryan Clady resumed negotiations on a potential long-term contract extension earlier this month, but aren’t close to a deal. The representatives for Clady, who is key to the protection of Manning, are preparing a counter to Denver’s offer.
The Broncos need to protect their chances at a Super Bowl and that means protecting Peyton Manning at quarterback. I am sure that the Broncos will find a way to get a deal done. They would be stupid otherwise. Clady does have some good leverage though. He is a top left tackle in the league and the Broncos need that protection,
We will see how this one plays out before training camp starts at the end of the month.
