The New York Giants and WR Victor Cruz have come to terms on a contract extension worth $43 million for the next 5 years. They had been working on getting a deal done for a while. Cruz is locked in, so there won’t be any distractions with Cruz and contract discussions.

The Spin: This is all good news for the Giants. Cruz is locked in for the next five years and they will be able to lock up WR Hakeem Nicks next year with the franchise tag if they choose to do so. Cruz has been an awesome fit on offense for the Giants and they will continue to get the production from him.

We will have to wait to see how this will affect Hakeem Nicks in the future. Nicks will be a free agent at the end of the year and is looking to get paid also. The Giants can use the franchise tag on him for a few seasons, but would be best to get him locked in on a long term deal as well.

Happy for Victor Cruz. He worked his butt off to get onto a roster and now he is getting paid for all the hard work.
