This is one of the funniest stories I have heard from football players and fantasy football. Check out these quotes from Maurice Jones Drew from Larry Brown Sports. He claimed that his fullback, Greg Jones, didn’t want to block for him on a touchdown play because Jones didn’t want to lose to MJD in fantasy:

“I was playing against him [in fantasy]. And we have our equipment guys keep us up on [the fantasy scores] during games,” Jones-Drew said. “You know who you have and you see when you’re not on the field, obviously, but … I think if I scored, I was going to [beat Jones].

“We got onto the 1-yard line, and they were like, ‘We better call this run play.’ I’m like, ‘Greg, don’t do it.’ And he looked at me and he winked. And I was like ‘Greg. It’s not time to play. This is bigger than [winning in fantasy]. Let’s not do this.’”

Asked what the wink meant, Jones-Drew answered, “[Jones] wasn’t going to block the guy!”

When you are in Jacksonville, there isn’t much to play for in the first place, but a fullback not blocking for you on a 1 yard run is not going to help out your record… but it might help out in fantasy football a little bit. That is hilarious! I would be begging coach to go with the fullback dive on the play. Simply amazing.
