According to reports, Robert Griffin III looked “explosive” at camp Thursday. Griffin did not take part in team drills, but managed to participate in the 7 on 7. He was apparently “cutting fine” on the knee which is great news, considering he is only 5 months removed from ACL, and LCL surgery.
ESPN’s Ed Werner stated that there is “very little doubt” that RG3 will start week 1. This is all obviously great new for Griffin and the Washington Redskins as he is recovering very quickly. Many doubted that he would be ready for week 1, but he made it known months ago that he would make it his goal.
Feel like I need to say this..Although my goal is to start Week 1, that doesn’t mean I will compromise my career to do so.”
Griffin tweeted this back in February, but clearly he feels comfortable with his knee, and how it has progressed. RG3 will look to build on his promising rookie campaign where he threw 20 passing touchdowns, and ran in 7. If his knee is truly healthy, and his line protects him, Redskins fans should expect another stellar season from Griffin.
