New York Jets KR-RB Joe McKnight came into camp in poor shape. He failed his conditioning test and has to start out the season on the NFI (Non-Football Injury) list. He will have to pass the conditioning test before he is able to get onto the practice field.

So much for that statement that he made back in May:

“I don’t care who they bring in, they’re going [to have to] kill me to take my spot. You understand that now?” McKnight told the New York Daily News. “Just because they bring Goodson and Ivory in they already think I’m gone. They just bringing people in for competition, they ain’t bringing nobody in to say, ‘Joe is done.’”

If he can’t pass the conditioning test… then JOE IS DONE!

With all the new backs brought onto the roster, it would be up to Joe to rise to the competition, but it looks like he has gotten off on the wrong foot. He will have to get back onto the field quickly and make a good impression with the coaches during training camp and the preseason to keep that roster spot.
