Been running around all day and finally got back to the computer to see that there are a few people who have gone down with an injury and will miss the entire season. Let’s start it out with Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin. That cannot be good news for Chip Kelly and his offense. That is a huge loss.
Maclin suffered from a tore ACL on a non-contact drill during camp. Desean Jackson will need to step his game up, but he won’t be able to carry that load all by himself. Jason Avant will have to step in and make plays also.
Maclin was entering a contract year and was hoping to make a big payday during the offseason:
“I think I can only get better,” Maclin said. “I think it will be good for me to go out there and just play ball and let everything else take care of itself.” – Pro Football Talk
It really hurts to see a player with that type of attitude go down. He was going to play it out and make things happen to earn that payday. It didn’t work out too well for him.
