The Baltimore Ravens have signed TE Visanthe Shiancoe to a one year deal. This move comes one day after the Ravens lost their starting tight end Dennis Pitta. Pitta, who fractured his hip, will miss all of next season.
Shiancoe is coming off of a season where he only appeared in 4 games, and caught 0 passes. Clearly he was not brought in to light the world on fire, but rather to give them some depth at the position. The team is expected to use Ed Dickinson has their starting tight end for next year. Shiancoe does not have much football left in him, but he should serve as a decent blocker for the Ravens next season.
