Reports out of New England Patriots training camp is not encouraging for the passing game. The receivers group has a lot of youngsters trying to make name for themselves.
“I don’t want to be a grumpy old guy,” Brady (turning 36 on Saturday) told Volin. “I understand there’s a learning curve and there’s a patience. I think you try to let them know though, that there’s an urgency about it, so it’s not like you can afford mistakes.”
The only bright spot was Danny Amendola. At least Brady will have one receiver to toss the ball out to. At least he has one player he can trust on offense. The rest of the group is questionable.
Rob Gronkowski isn’t practicing yet either because he is recovering from all the surgeries from Dr. Frankenstein. Someone has to step up on offense. Brady will get the ball out to them, they will need to be able to get open and make plays though.
