Broncos CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Taken Off Field In A Cart

Denver Broncos CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie had to be carted off of the field today. He went up to deflect a pass and landed awkwardly. He hobbled to the sideline and waited for a cart to take him off the field. With all the ACL injuries happening early in camp, Denver Broncos fans must be holding their breath.

The Broncos have already lost their starting center… twice. Von Miller might be out for the first quarter of games for the season. Things have not been moving very smoothly for the Broncos lately.

The extent of the injury for Rodgers-Cromartie still has not been determined. We will wait to get the word out of Denver camp and update this post when we get that info.

UPDATE: Chris Mortensen is reporting that the injury is a high ankle sprain. They dodged the ACL monster on that one, but some of those high ankle injuries linger.

Holding breath is an understatement. I will say this.. CB is a position you constantly put all of your weight on your ankle, going up for jump balls… turning in mid-air, and landing awkwardly.. sprinting from the line (sometimes backwards, and then turning) on deep passes. I am sure he will be held out of practice, and probably preseason. He won’t get much practice time in, even if he is good to go by game 1.
