According to reports, it is believed that Russel Shepard is the favorite to land the Eagles 2nd wide receiver job. Shepard an undrafted rookie, has been turning heads at camp, and is apparently a serious name to look out for. In college he posted 570 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. Coming out of high school he was a highly touted quarterback prospect before being converted to wide out at LSU.
The Philadelphia Eagles are lining Shepard up opposite of DeSean Jackson, as a starter. With Riley Cooper still excused from the team, and Jeremy Maclin out for the year, the second starting position seems to be up for grabs. It will be very interesting to find out who comes out with the job, but Shepard seems to have a legitimate shot. With pre-season football just around the corner, all Eagles wide receivers will get their chance to show why they deserve to start.
