LeVeon Bell Should Be Steelers Starter; Not Even Listed As 3rd String

Jul 29, 2013; Latrobe, PA, USA; Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le

Everyone knows that LeVeon Bell is competing to be the starting back in Pittsburgh, but on the first official depth chart that was released by the Steelers, he is listed below the 3rd stringers.

Isaac Redman is listed as the starter, Jonathan Dwyer listed as the backup and Larod Stephens-Howling listed 3rd on the list. Bell is listed in the other category.

Bell has too much potential to keep on the bench. The other guys on the roster are MEH. Stephens-Howling is exciting when he has the football in his hands, but won’t be stealing many carries from anyone. Redman and Dwyer have had their chances to impress and have not stolen the show.

Bell should be the starter going into the season. Mike Tomlin likely is listing him near the bottom of the depth chart to make him work for that starting job. He also doesn’t want to blow up the kid’s ego.

Come game 1, Bell will be taking the handoffs from Ben Roethlisberger and carrying defenders on his back for the score.

That’s one of the couldn’t be helped deals…we got Manti in the 2nd and of course …thank God…Allen in the 3rd. Bell went between them in the 2nd.
I would have loved to have some how gotten Reggie Bush when he came available – that would have been an excellent get.
