Reports are out that former Alabama and current Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy played the end of last season with a broken hand. He played in the Iron Bown and the SEC Championship game with a broken left hand then underwent surgery before the BCS National Championship game, per Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal.
Who needs a hand? When you are a running back, you don’t need a hand to carry the ball or anything.
“I really couldn’t use the hand but I could run and pretty much pass protect,” Lacy, now with the Green Bay Packers, told the Journal-Sentinel. “When I got hit, I couldn’t feel it.
“Then by the time the game came I put my normal glove on and put a little covering over it. Sometimes it hurt, sometimes it was all right.” – al.com
That speaks to the toughness of a player that the Packers picked up this year in the draft. Lacy just wants to go out there and help the team whenever he can. Injuries won’t stop him. That is a big time player.
