New York Giants WR Victor Cruz left Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts with a bruised heel. X-rays were taken and they came back negative. He is currently on crutches and in a walking boot, but he believes that he will be ready to start the season against the Dallas Cowboys.
“Once the swelling goes down, I think I’ll be okay,” Cruz said, via NFL Network’s Kimberly Jones. “Hopefully I can be ready before two weeks from now. I do envision playing against Cowboys in opener.”

Cruz signed a big time contract extension this offseason and he will be counted on to make a big time contribution to the Giants offense. With Hakeem Nicks still working his way back into shape, the Giants will need to rely on Cruz early and often. Hopefully that heel bruise doesn’t linger for too long.
