Patriots RB Stevan Ridley Benched After 2nd Quarter Fumble

New England Patriots RB Stevan Ridley has a lot of expectations this season from the fantasy football world. After his 2nd fumble on the day in the 2nd quarter today, he was benched and never came back onto the field. Ridley has had a history of fumble problems, so the Patriots had to make a statement to Ridley. He left the game with 9 carries for 46 yards and a pair of fumbles.

While he was sitting on the bench, he watched Shane Vereen pile up 159 yards from scrimmage, with 101 of those coming on the ground.

It will be interesting to see what the Patriots do from this point forward with their running back position. Ridley was supposed to be the main back, but a performance like that from Vereen can not go unnoticed.

Be prepared for a time share out in New England. If you bought into the hype with Ridley for your fantasy football draft, prepare to punch yourself a couple of times in the balls.
