Steelers Lose C Maurkice Pouncey For The Year With ACL/MCL Tear

The Pittsburgh Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey will be out for the rest of the year. Pouncey left today’s game early and had an MRI after the game. It turns out that he tore his ACL and MCL and will require surgery.

That is a big time loss for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger is going to miss his protection up front. He was sacked 5 times today and struggled to produce. He threw for 191 yards and had an interception and touchdown.

The Steelers also struggled in the ground game, only rushing for 32 yards against the Tennessee Titans.

It might be a real long season for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Without the protection that they need up front, the team will struggle on offense. With Pouncey out for the season, Cody Wallace is the next man listed on the Steelers depth chart. I am sure the Steelers will be hunting for a new lineman through free agency to fill some holes up front.

Maybe Pitt is going to tank the year like the colts did so they can get Bridgewater.

What would they do with Roethlisberger?

Trade him? He cannot nor has he ever been able to throw a pass, to his receivers in the pattern, and now the line doesn’t seem to be able to compensate for his staying in the pocket. He held onto the ball to long, and now he missed mike Wallace.
