Start ‘Em

    Doug Martin
Since being drafted in the first round in the 2012 Draft, Martin established himself as one of the most explosive and premiere backs in the NFL.  Last season for the Bucs, Martin rushed for 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns and caught 49 passes for 472 yards out of the backfield. His 1,926 yards from scrimmage were among tops in the league in 2012.

The fact that Martin, in his first season in the NFL, was able to rack up over 1,400 yards against the best defenses is outstanding considering that even 6 year veterans could hardly muster up 1,000 yards from scrimmage, let alone rushing.

This week Martin and the Buccaneers go into NYC to take on the Jets. Although the Jets were ranked 8th in the league in overall defense, they were absolutely atrocious when it came to stopping the run (133.6 rushing yards per game, ranked 26th in the league).

This should be an open invitation for Martin and the Bucs to go ahead and pound the ball down the Jets throats. The results in fact could be deadly, although not too deadly, Muscle Hamster needs his rest. Start em.
