Tyvon Branch Out For Season With Fractured Fibula. Huge Blow For Raiders Defense

The Oakland Raiders defense has been playing well to start out the season, but it looks like it has some bad news after yesterday’s win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It looks like the Raiders have lost SS Tyvon Branch for the year with a serious leg injury. It sounds like he broke his fibula in the game.

Branch is one of the best defensive players on the team. He is a physical strong safety and has the ability to cover the tight ends. Branch recorded over 100 tackles in the last 3 season and his loss will hurt Oakland.

The Raiders will rely on Usama Young at the position who has experience. He won’t have the same impact as Branch, but it won’t be a massive hole at that position.

We will see how things look in a few weeks when they have to face off against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. I am sure they will be missing him in that game.

Dennis Allen denied it was a broken leg in his 1pm press conference. Has he taken classes from the Bill Belichick school of injury reporting?
