Felix Jones Taking Over Running Back Job In Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Steelers have started the season 0-2 and the offense is struggling. They have scored 19 points in the first couple of games and cannot get their running game moving.

The team is thinking about getting Felix Jones the rock more and put Isaac Redman back onto the bench:

“The running game was below the line,” Tomlin explained. “But I was encouraged by Felix Jones and what he’ll be able to do moving forward. He knew when to bounce it and when to put his foot in the ground and get vertical. There were some things we can build upon.” – NFL.com

The Steelers traded for Jones during the preseason and he definitely would be a better back than Redman, but he still needs holes to run though. If the offensive line is not creating anything for the backs, then they still will struggle in that ground attack. Felix Jones, LeVeon Bell, Isaac Redman… whoever it is will still need holes to run through.
