The Indianapolis Colts will be without their tight end Dwayne Allen for the season. Head Coach Chuck Pagano informed the media today that Allen needs to have season-ending surgery on his hip injury. Allen injured his hip in the season opener against the Oakland Raiders and did not play last week against the Miami Dolphins.
Pagano had said that Allen was day-to-day earlier in the week, but that diagnosis sure seems to be a little off.
“We were all hoping that it would be something that with time and with rest he would come around,’’ Pagano said. “He’s a tough, tough, tough kid.
“But once we got the thing evaluated and saw what the doctors saw in there and what needed to be done . . . for the long term, it’s what needed to be done at this time.’’ – Indy Star
