Arizona Cardinals nose tackle Dan Williams is a key cog in the Cardinals front seven, and the Cards could be without Williams today against the New Orleans Saints. Per Cardinals official site beat writer Darren Urban, the Cardinals have listed Dan Williams as questionable for today’s game after he didn’t travel with the team to New Orleans due to a personal matter.

Cardinals fans can only hope that Williams will be able to suit up against the Saints, and we can all only hope that, whatever the situation is, everything is alright. Whenever a player misses a trip to a game due to a “family matter”, there is almost always something extremely important going on, so our thoughts are with Williams and his family.

If the Arizona Cardinals are not able to have Williams today, then they will probably end up starting Frostee Rucker in Williams’s place. There’s definitely a clear drop-off between Williams and any backup nose tackle, because Williams is a solid player in the middle whereas nobody else behind him can be trusted. Going up against the New Orleans Saints interior is no easy feat, especially with center Brian De La Puente lined up at the heart of the OL.
