The San Francisco 49ers have struggled out of the gate in this early season. The expectations for the 49ers is still the Super Bowl, but when every team is gunning for you, there is a little more edge to the team that is standing on the opposing sideline. The St. Louis Rams would love to help them continue their fall from grace. It will be an epic NFC West battle.

49ers Player to Watch: Colin Kaepernick

After starting the season hot against the Green Bay Packers, Kaepernick has struggled in the last two losses. He threw for 412 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Packers, but in the last two games he has thrown for 277 yards, no touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Kaepernick needs to find that groove back in order for the team to get back on track.

Rams Player to Watch: Sam Bradford

Sep 22, 2013; Arlington, TX, USA; St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford (8) throws a pass against the Dallas Cowboys in the third quarter at AT

Sam Bradford is 2-0 at home vs the 49ers in his career and has completed 71.1 percent of his passes in those games. In 4 career games against the 49ers, he has thrown 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. Look for him to be solid once again. The offensive line will have to do a better job of protecting him this week. The line gave up 6 sacks to the Cowboys on Sunday.

Matchup to Watch: Rams Run Defense vs Frank Gore

Frank Gore likely should have touched the ball more last week in their loss on Sunday. He carried the ball 11 times for 82 yards. Now he will be going up against the Rams defense that gave up 175 yards and a score to Demarco Murray last week. It looks like a great opportunity for Gore to churn out more yards.

The 49ers need to right the ship and going into St. Louis will be a grind. Still think that the team will pull it together and make enough plays to win the game.
