Indianapolis Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw is out for this weekend’s game, but there are questions on how much longer he will be out. It isn’t very clear at this point.

The team currently plans to rest him and his neck in order to help relieve the stiffness and discomfort. There is no timetable on his return at this time.

With Bradshaw sidelined, it will open up the opportunity for Trent Richardson to take control of the backfield. Richardson was acquired in the big trade last week by the Colts and was expected to take the starting job eventually. This injury just sped up the process. Richardson will be the main guy this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Losing Bradshaw would be a big blow to the team. He picked up 111 total yards last week in the team’s win over the San Francisco 49ers. He is a veteran that knows how to get the job done.

Bradshaw has a history of injuries and it makes sense to give him some rest. They are playing against the worst team in the league this weekend also, so there is no big rush this weekend. It would be a perfect weekend for Richardson to get a ton of carries.
