The Baltimore Ravens have agreed with the Jacksonville Jaguars to trade multiple third day draft picks for starting LT Eugene Monroe. Monroe will likely be the starting left tackle for the Ravens with Bryant McKinnie struggling this year. McKinnie was involved in a party bus incident earlier in the season. He struggled last season also, but was able to redeem himself during the playoffs.

The news was a shock to Monroe:

“It was shocking news,” Monroe told The Associated Press. “It came out of nowhere for me. I’m just preparing to make the move. It’s a fresh start.”

The Jacksonville Jaguars are the worse team in the league and they are about to makes some big time changes in town. Monroe struggled recently at left tackle for the Jaguars, but he was trying to pick up the slack for guard Will Rackley. With Monroe moving over to Baltimore, rookie Luke Joeckel will move over from right tackle to left tackle.

If Monroe plays well with the Ravens this season, he can work his way to a new long-term deal.
