Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly’s name is being mentioned as a possibility with the USC job that has opened up. Kelly is one of the best college football coaches in the nation, but his team has struggled at the pro level to start out the year. So his name is starting to get mentioned for other opportunities.

Kelly tried to stop those rumors today by answering reporters:

“I’m the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles,” Kelly said, via Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com. “I’m very, very excited to be here. I’m not entertaining anything like that. I’m here.”

It would be crazy for Kelly to jump ship so quickly, but it wouldn’t be the first time that something like that has happened. The Miami Dolphins watched head coach Nick Saban do it to them when the Alabama job opened up in 2007.

Kelly opened up his career with the Eagles with an impressive win, but the team has been on a downward spiral ever since. The Eagles will have to start making some adjustments.
