Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez has said this in the past and we thought that he was done after last season. He came back for this season to try for that Super Bowl Ring. It sounds like he is definitely done after this season though:

"“You can’t keep chasing it,” Gonzalez said. “You can’t. I’ve chased it long enough. I’ve tried and I think I’ve chased it about three or four years longer than I thought I would. This is it.”"

Gonzalez turns 38 in February, but still is playing at a high level. This season he has 23 receptions for 242 yards and 3 touchdowns.

It is unfortunate that the Falcons have gotten out to a slow start this season. They will be heading into Monday Night’s matchup against the New York Jets with a 1-3 record. That is not going to get you to the Super Bowl any time soon. The Falcons will have to turn things around in order to get Gonzalez to the promised land. They may have to give the 37 year old the ball more so that he can put this team on his back.
