ESPN's McShay Still Believes Jadeveon Clowney Is 2014's Top Prospect

ESPN Draft Analyst Todd McShay still believes that Jadeveon Clowney is still the nation’s top player and should be selected number 1 by whichever team finishes with the worst record (Jacksonville Jaguars).

McShaw has 3 reasons on why Clowney is still the top player in the league (ESPN):

  1. His on-field performance hasn’t been an issue.
  2. NFL teams aren’t making their decisions right now about all the players
  3. Clowney is still the most talented player in the class

Clowney may be the most athletic and top player in the draft, but it really will depend on which team ends up with that number 1 draft pick. If it is not the Jacksonville Jaguars and it is a team that already has a decent quarterback, then someone is going to trade up to select that top quarterback.

The league is won and lost with the play at the quarterback position. As good as Clowney is and can be, Teddy Bridgewater looks like he will be one of the top selections before we hear Clowney’s name.
