The NFL knows what is good publicity for their league. The owners know how to generate that revenue for their teams. One of the hottest shows for the league is HBO’s Hard Knocks and the NFL owners voted today that the show will continue to air even if there were teams that were not interesting in participating.

The league passed a rule on Tuesday that will compel one team each year to participate in the HBO/NFL Films show “Hard Knocks.”

The league will start by asking for volunteers, but if nobody steps up to the plate, a team will be appointed to the show. All teams will be eligible for the show with the exception of teams with new coaches or those that have made the playoffs for two consecutive seasons.

Fans love the show and love the different story lines in training camp. It is a big distraction for teams, but it is great insight for fans. Can’t wait to see the Hard Knocks crew hit up different organizations and get insight on other stars around the league.
