Every October, the NFL allows players to support breast cancer awareness by sporting the color pink on their gloves, shoes and towels. Brandon Marshall had a cause that he wanted to support, Mental Health Awareness Week, and he wanted to wear green shoes to support that cause. There were some reports that said Marshall would not be permitted onto the field with the green, but those reports appear to be false. He will be allowed to be on the field, but he will simply be fined later for not following the league’s uniform rules.

Marshall had already planned to pay the fine for wearing green anyway. He also plans on matching the fine and donating it to charity.

Marshall is definitely doing his job by spreading awareness. The fact that you are here reading about this and I am writing about this means that he has a couple of other people aware of the situation.

Marshall and the Bears face off the winless New York Giants on Thursday Night Football and I am sure the announcers will be talking about it for the national audience.
