Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones is officially out for the year as he will be undergoing surgery for his foot injury. It is a reinjury of his broken foot where a screw was placed in. The Falcons season has turned miserable with the loss of Jones and with their record sitting at 1-4.

Jones hurt the foot on Monday Night against the New York Jets. He will finish the season with 5 games played and 41 receptions for 580 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Falcons may also be without WR Roddy White for some time with him nursing injuries. With Jones sitting on the sideline, Harry Douglas will see more action in the starting lineup.

The offense is taking a big time hit though and the Falcons will have to try to regroup. They are now without one of the top young wide receivers in the game and may be without another top receiver in Roddy White. They were considered contenders for the Super Bowl at the start of the season and now they are falling off the face of the planet.
