Mandatory Credit: Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY SportsNew York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs went back in time with his performance today against the Chicago Bears. The Bears struggled bringing the big man down and he finished with 22 rushes for 106 yards and a couple of scored. He played like he was 5 years younger.

With David Wilson out for some time with a neck injury, Jacobs will get his chance to shine in front of the New York faithful. He will get the bulk of the carries as the starter. All night long, he was looking to run players over and drag around defenders. He dragged a few Chicago Bears for his first touchdown of the game.

Jacobs did have a thigh injury in the game, but he will have some time to recover before the Giants get back on the field. He will get a solid 10 days to heal up before he looks to run over more defenders.

Jacobs will get an opportunity, but I am not sure that he will be able to bring that type of performance to the field again. Having a run game, helped Eli Manning play a little better, but Manning still tossed interception after interception. Jacobs might be able to help in the running game, but if Eli can’t get things straightened out then the defenders are going to focus a little more on Jacobs.

It was nice to go back in time for a moment with Jacobs.
