With the injury to Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick, Nick Foles got his opportunity to be the starter again under head coach Chip Kelly and he showed that he can handle the offense and move that football. Now the quarterback controversy is going to begin again in Philly and Chip Kelly will likely hold his cards close to his chest and name his starter at the very last second. Vick looked like he had a chance to start on Sunday, but he was held out to rest his injury more.

With Foles taking the start, he completed 22 of 31 passes for 296 yards and 3 touchdowns. The decision for Chip Kelly should really be an easy one. Foles is younger, cheaper and he doesn’t turn the football over. He also is not fragile like Vick.

With Foles coming off a solid game, Kelly has to ride the hot hand. He needs to go with what is working. When Foles came in against the Giants in week 5, he went 16 for 25 for 197 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Nick Foles should be the starting quarterback for the Eagles. It wouldn’t make any sense to go back to Vick at this time.
