With the Jets losing KR/RB Mike Goodson for the rest of the season, the Jets needed to find another weapon in the return game and on offense. The Jets have signed WR /KR Josh Cribbs to a deal today. He will serve as the team’s kick returner.
Cribbs had been out of the league this season after getting released by the Oakland Raiders in the preseason. He had been the main returner for the Cleveland Browns for the last 8 seasons, but he had knee surgery in the offseason. The Raiders were not impressed with what he brought this preseason and gave him the ax.
The Jets need someone to return kicks for the team. They released Joe McKnight earlier in the year and Mike Goodson is now out. Cribbs has a career average of 25.9 yards per kickoff return and an 11 yard average on punt returns. He was really good while with the Browns, we will see if that knee surgery has slowed him down at all.
