It didn’t take long for the Minnesota Vikings to make the switch over to Josh Freeman. There really wasn’t a better option for the team at this point. With Matt Cassel and Christian Ponder as the only other options on the roster, Freeman was an easy choice to put in as the starter.
The Vikings made the announcement over twitter:

Josh Freeman was recently brought in by the Vikings to help at the quarterback position. They are hoping that his big arm will be able to stretch the field and give Adrian Peterson more running room. The playbook will probably be limited at this time, but they are playing against the winless New York Giants. I guess it would be a good time for Freeman to get his feet wet and get some action with his new roster.
Let’s see how Freeman responds as the starter for the Vikings. The NFL world will be watching.
