Matt Schaub Will Not Play This Week. Case Keenum Will Start For Texans

Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub will not start this week for the Houston Texans as he will rest the injuries against the Kansas City Chiefs. With Schaub out for the game, head coach Gary Kubiak has decided to start Case Keenum instead of T.J. Yates on Sunday.

This will be Keenum’s first action EVER and he will be facing off against a very tough defense. The Kansas City Chiefs should be excited to chase around the young quarterback on Sunday.

T.J. Yates has been the backup quarterback all season, but he got passed up as the starter. Yates came into the game on Sunday last weekend when Schaub went down with the injury and threw a couple of interceptions. He didn’t make the most of that opportunity.

Keenum will now get his chance to prove his worth and will have to deal with the Kansas City crowd. Sounds like a tough situation for a young quarterback to step into, but this will be his shot. This could get ugly or Kubiak will look like a genius. I am guessing it gets ugly.

Well as it stands right now, the starter that threw for NFL record of pick sixes, or his back-up, that studies under Schaub, and continued the tradition with a Pick six of his own, to make sure they didn’t break the trend?
He is the only QB the fans will not riot when the Texans take the field. More likely, the offense has become predictable and needs more options other than hand off to Foster and throw it to Johnson.
