With Danieal Manning out for the rest of the season for the Houston Texans, many suspected that Shiloh Keo to take the starting job next to Ed Reed. Keo is a versatile safety and started the first couple of the games of the season while Ed Reed was on the sideline resting his injuries.
Instead, the Houston Texans have announce that rookie D.J. Swearinger will be starting next to Ed Reed. Swearinger is a very good young player, but I don’t know if he is the best option to start for the defense. Keo deserves a shot to be the starter first.
Swaeringer has not seen a lot of the field this season. He has 11 tackles so far, but will be getting a huge opportunity against the Chiefs.
Are the Texans just going young now and looking toward the future? The Texans also announced that Case Keenum is starting at quarterback over T.J. Yates this weekend. They are letting the youngsters get their chance to play. Let’s see how they do.
