DeMarco Murray, DeMarcus Ware listed doubtful

Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware (94) smiles while on the sidelines during the fourth quarter against the St. Louis Rams at AT

Dallas Cowboys feature back DeMarco Murray was always expected to miss this week’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles after suffering an MCL sprain last week against the Washington Redskins. Interestingly enough, the Cowboys haven’t completed ruled out either Murray or superstar pass rusher DeMarcus Ware, as the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Charean Williams reports that both Ware and Murray have been listed as doubtful on the team’s official injury report.

Murray has dealt with these sorts of injuries throughout this career, and at this point the Cowboys are just hoping that he will be ready to face the Detroit Lions in Week 8. He’s a very important player to this Cowboys offense, because he gives this team some much-needed balance and is more than capable of impacting the game as a receiving back. So far this season, Murray is averaging a solid 4.7 yards per carry with 24 receptions as well.

Ware is well-regarded for his toughness and ability to quickly bounce back from injuries, but I would be shocked if he was able to play this week against the Eagles with a quadriceps injury that will likely cost him a couple of weeks. Even so, Ware is planning on traveling to Philly with the rest of the team and testing out his quads before the game.
