Roddy White, Jason Snelling not at practice

Atlanta Falcons star WR Roddy White did not play last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with ankle and hamstring injuries that he suffered in Week 5, and not even a bye week could prevent White from missing the first game of his career. He wasn’t able to practice on Wednesday and Thursday either, and he looks extremely doubtful for this week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. ESPN NFL Nation’s Vaughn McClure reports that both White and running back Jason Snelling were unable to practice today.

This is likely the nail in the coffin for White’s chances of playing in Week 8, and fantasy owners need to bench this guy pronto. The Falcons are less inclined to play White against a weaker opponent in the Cardinals, and they likely have White eyed for the Week 9 matchup against a rising division rival in the Carolina Panthers, who have had the Falcons number in recent times. The Cardinals aren’t a true lightweight, but White isn’t even healthy enough to play anyway.

Jason Snelling is somebody well-worth dropping in all fantasy leagues, and, like White, he too hasn’t practiced all week. Snelling is reportedly suffering from an ankle injury, and he was clearly the No. 2 back behind Jacquizz Rodgers in the committee to replace Steven Jackson. With Jackson now finally set to return from an ankle injury and Snelling’s status for Week 8’s game unlikely, there’s really no point in rostering Snelling in fantasy leagues at this point.
