Initial MRI Results On Julius Thomas Ankle Are "Negative"

Denver Broncos TE Julius Thomas went down with an injury in the game against the Washington Redskins, but the initial results from the MRI today have been negative. That is a good sign. He got tangled up on a tackle and twisted his ankle up a bit as he was dragged down. Thomas limped off of the field after the play.

The Broncos have a BYE this week and Thomas will be able to get a little more rest for that ankle. It is a good week for him to take some time off. The Broncos will return in week 10 versus the San Diego Chargers. The Broncos would love to have him back for the division matchup in week 10.

Thomas has been a big time target for Peyton Manning on offense. He has 39 receptions this season for 451 yards and 8 touchdowns. The injury doesn’t sound serious, but we should know more next week when the team returns to practice from the BYE week.
