The Dallas Cowboys are losing offensive guard Brian Waters for the season with a torn triceps. He suffered the injury against the Detroit Lions in that epic battle on Sunday.

Waters is a 6-time Pro Bowl player. He had an excellent career with the Kansas City Chiefs and also played a season with the New England Patriots. He sat out for the 2012 season and returned this year to be in Dallas.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones went onto the radio show this morning and said he expected to miss the rest of the season. Waters is 36 years old, so that might be the last time that Waters sees the football field as a player.

This is a death blow to the Dallas offensive front line. The line improved the instant Waters lined up at Right Guard. Bernadeau cannot cut it and the Dallas running game will suffer worse than it is right now. If Jerry Jones is going to trade for somebody today, it needs to be for a stud anchor guard. And he needs to pay whatever it takes or, quite frankly, this season is lost.
