Patriots Trade for Eagles DT Isaac Sopoaga

The New England Patriots added some depth to the defensive line by making a trade at the trade deadline. They made a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for DT. The Patriots gave up their 5th round draft pick and picked up Sopoaga and the Eagles 6th round pick. The Patriots basically gave up nothing in order to add some depth onto their roster.

Sapoaga is 32 years old and can plug up the middle of the line. He isn’t the same force that he was when he was younger, but he will provide some depth up front. The Patriots needed some help and Sapoaga will be a body that they can throw at the situation.

The Patriots lost Vince Wilfork for the season and the team needed someone to fill that void. They found their guy and he will be used to plug up the holes. It is a good deal for the Patriots. They needed someone to take up that spot in the middle and they got it for next to nothing.
