The San Francisco 49ers have activated their LB Aldon Smith off of the NFI list. He was spending some time in rehab after he was arrested for a DUI. He should be back on the field soon, now that he is off of the NFI list. He will be able to join the team in practice and will likely join the team on the field very soon after that.

Smith has played in 3 games this season, combining for 18 tackles and 4.5 sacks in those 3 games. He is a monster when he is on the field and the 49ers would welcome that force back on their defense.

The 49ers are getting a weapon back onto their already stout defense. It might take him a little time to get his timing back, but he will be chasing after quarterbacks soon enough. The 49ers will have him back for the stretch run and into the playoffs.
