The Honey Badger is back. Arizona Cardinals rookie DB Tyrann Mathieu brought back the nickname earlier in the month and a lot of that is because he has been playing well and had the confidence to bring it back. Mathieu was named the Defensive Rookie of the Month for the month of October.

Mathieu was drafted by the Cardinals in the 3rd round out of LSU. His transition to the NFL has been smooth and he has helped the Cardinals defense to become solid. Mathieu has not made a ton of game changing plays like he used to at LSU, but he has been consistent and has helped grow the Cardinals defense.

For the month, Matthieu had 20 tackles, a sack and an interception. The Cardinals went 2-2 in the month, but a big reason for that was their inconsistent offense. The Cardinals and Carson Palmer love to give the opposing team extra opportunities to score.

The defense still remains strong and will keep the Cardinals in games. A lot of the credit to that has to go to the rookie.
