Broncos HC John Fox Will Undergo Heart Procedure, Will Miss Multiple Weeks

The Denver Broncos will be without their head coach for the next few weeks. He is scheduled to have an aortic heart valve replaced in surgery on Tuesday and he is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks to recover from the surgery. There has not been an announcement on who will take over his duties as the head coach while he is out.

Speculation has defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio as the top prospect to take over the position. He was the head coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars recently and he has the most experience on the team as a head coach.

It will be interesting to see how the team responds without their head coach on their sideline. If the team’s defensive coordinator takes the head role, then how will he be able to focus on the defense that has been getting gashed.

The opportunity is there for somebody. The Broncos have one of the best teams in the league and the offense is able to run well with Peyton Manning under center. The team is on their BYE week right now and they will resume play without their head coach starting the following Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
