Speed. Speed. Speed. Sammy Watkins is a burner on the field. If someone wants to pick up a receiver that will stretch the football field, Watkins is the player that you want to add onto your roster.

Watkins is a junior receiver out of Clemson and is the top receiver prospect in the league. Watkins caught 8 passes for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns today in the team’s win over Virginia. He had a 96 yard reception in the game in which he burned by the defense.

Whatever team decides to select Watkins will get a burner. Watkins might be the first receiver selected in the draft, but many teams will be interested in Texas A&M WR Mike Evans also. Watkins has the open field speed, but Evans has the size advantage that is a mismatch for defenses.

It will be fun to see Watkins in the league. Will he be able to use that speed in the league to get by the defense? He has that game breaking speed though.
