The Houston Texans have named defensive coordinator Wade Phillips the interim head coach while Gary Kubiak is out. This will be a good opportunity for Phillips to show his value as a head coach. He has an opportunity to run a team that had high expectations at the start of the season.

Wade Phillips last was a head coach with the Dallas Cowboys and he failed to meet the high expectations of the team and was eventually fired. He can show his worth now to a team that might be looking for a head coach at the end of the season.

Sadly that is the harsh reality for Coach Kubiak. If Phillips is able to perform, he might have a job as a head coach for a little bit. If it is not with the Texans, it might be with another franchise. I wish the best to Phillips in his opportunity. Also wish the best to the recovery for Coach Kubiak.

The Texans will face the Arizona Cardinals in there first game as Wade Phillips as the head coach on Sunday.
