Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler was supposed to be out for a few weeks with a groin injury, but it seems that he is recovering at a better pace and could be back on the field sooner rather than later. Cutler will be on the practice field on Thursday for the team and will be evaluated there. There still is no word if he will be able to play this weekend, but it could be something to watch.

“I don’t know where he’s at really,” coach Marc Trestman said. “He’s been running around, working out with the trainers.”

With Josh McCown playing well against the Packers, Cutler might be able to play it safe and rest up for another week. The Bears are facing off against the Detroit Lions at home. The team would love to have Cutler back on the field, but he can’t risk re-injuring the groin by getting back onto the field too early. Thursday’s practice should let us know a lot more information on if he will be able to get on the field on Sunday.
