Chicago Bears Head Coach Mark Trestman has told the media that QB Jay Cutler will not be participating in the game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Cutler was taken out of the game against the Detroit Lions in the 4th quarter after hurting his ankle. He had just returned to the field from a groin injury, but now he has to deal with this ankle injury.
With Cutler out, Josh McCown will step in as the starting quarterback again for the Bears. McCown did a solid job in Cutler’s absence a few weeks ago and they will need him to step up and play well again.
The timetable for Cutler’s return is still up in the air, but I am sure he will be working to get back on the field as soon as possible. He returned early from the groin injury, but now he has to fight through this high ankle sprain injury.
Cutler will be needed down the stretch. The Bears are battling for a playoff spot and can’t afford to fall far behind the Detroit Lions in the division.
