Houston Texans Are Releasing S Ed Reed

The Houston Texans are releasing safety Ed Reed today. He was brought over in the offseason and was hoping to help take the Texans over the top, but the team has struggled this season and Reed has struggled with injuries this season. The team is doing him a favor and I am sure that he will try to hook up with a team that is in playoff contention.

He still has the skills and awareness to help some team in their secondary. Reed has been one of the best safeties in the league for a long time. He is a ball-hawk and has a ton of experience that he can bring to a team’s secondary.

There should be plenty of interest for his services. I am sure that he will be on someone’s roster soon enough. Teams that are in the playoff hunt may look to add him onto their roster. Let’s see where the wily old veteran ends up.
