Ed Reed Signs With The New York Jets

Ed Reed was released by the Houston Texans earlier in the week and cleared through waivers. Today he is signing a deal to play with the New York Jets for the rest of the season. The Jets are currently in the lead for the last playoff spot in the AFC and they would love to get some extra help in the secondary. Rex Ryan is happy to work with Ed Reed again on defense.

It should be interesting to see how much Rex Ryan gets out of Reed. Reed was on his last legs with the Ravens and was moving closer and closer to the bench with the Texans. He still has the ability to make plays, but there are things that he is limited in because his body is broken down. He will have to stay healthy to help the Jets make a push.

I don’t know if he has much in the tank, but he will get one last chance to make some plays in a Jets uniform.
